Big 3 Energy Suppliers Sign for Retro Expo

19th September, 2012

Retro Expo will feature some of the UK's biggest and best known energy suppliers later this year.  Three of the 'Big 6' have signed as Silver Sponsors - British Gas, EDF and E.ON - and Carillion Energy Services and Willmott Dixon have also pledged their support as some of the sector's leading power brands continue to support Retro Expo.

“To meet the UK’s carbon targets, and to transform the way we all use energy in our homes and businesses, it will be important to make a step change in the way we retrofit existing buildings through the Green Deal," said John Kimber, Managing Director New Energy, at British Gas. "We are therefore delighted to support this event which will bring together the leading experts from across the sector, allowing the sharing of experience and best practise to take the whole industry forward.”

David Adams, Technical Director at Willmott Dixon Energy Services Limited, added: "Whilst Green Deal and ECO are huge opportunities for the energy efficiency market, there’s also a high level of misunderstanding – Retro Expo will help you to find your niche and get the facts straight.”

As Silver Sponsors the companies will all be exhibiting and presenting at Retro Expo. British Gas, Carillion Energy Services and Willmott Dixon will be taking part in the Green Deal Summit, the definitive conference on the Green Deal.

John Kimber will be exploring how sustainable communities can be created through community retrofits during the Summit’s ‘Retrofit at Scale’ Module. John Swinney, Business Development Director at Carillion Energy Services will be giving the Provider’s point of view of The Green Deal; explaining their approach and debating the best way of realising the potential of the retrofit market. Nigel Taylor, Managing Director at Carillion Energy Services will be giving the Provider’s point of view of The Green Deal; explaining their approach and debating the best way of realising the potential of the retrofit market and David Adams will be participating in a panel discussion looking at how we can unlock demand in the domestic market.

“We’re delighted to have got such key players in the retrofit agenda on board," said David Pierpoint, Business Development Director of Retro Expo. "The three of the big six energy suppliers collectively supply nearly 60% of all electricity sales in the UK, so it is essential they are at the show.  Retro Expo is really shaping up to be the UK’s leading event for energy efficient design and learning.”
