Ed Davey Statement on Green Deal and ECO

Following consultation, this week I am laying before Parliament the key statutory instruments which establish the market framework of the Green Deal and ECO, subject to the affirmative procedure. I am laying these instruments alongside the final impact assessment, which evaluates the net present value of the policies. My Department has simultaneously published associated research which informed our final conclusions. Later in June I will lay before Parliament a second tranche of more minor Green Deal statutory instruments subject to the negative procedure. I will also be bringing forward the Green Deal Code of Practice and modifications to energy licences and codes.

Online Green Deal Tool Available

A new online tool, known as Green Deal Manager, is to be launched alongside the Green Deal. This online tool has been created and is being run by Graham Jack and Phyllis Boardman. The system will have a series of bespoke documents that take a Green Deal Installer through the policy and the procedure process required to operate. Once the Green Deal is launched, it will also provide a project management system for the installers that is easy to use.v

New Green Deal Network Launches

A new not-for-profit organisation, the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Buildings (EEBP), has been launched, replacing the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes, to create the UK's largest network of potential Green Deal providers, financiers, product and service suppliers.v
